This blog is an outlet for a young business man to collect his thoughts about the various topics that arise in building a small business. These topics tend to be finances, web design, web programming, marketing, customer relations, and any other curve ball that may come along the way. The goal is to create a self made repository of information that I, and maybe a couple others, can read and learn from. I am certainly not an expert, but I am a good learner.

Although my current position is worthwhile and enjoyable, I have a passion for web technologies that I find much more rewarding. You can find a portion of my portfolio at www.RHollister.com. In addition to these personal clients, I have worked as a freelance consultant for a couple large web design firms in the Connecticut and Massachusetts market. PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX, CSS, and Photoshop are some of the technologies I use on a daily basis.

I would describe myself as an ambitious and goal orientated professional. I graduated with Distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute a year ago with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Sciences. I feel that I possess a good balance of the technical problem solving skills of an engineer along with the imaginative skills needed to create effective web sites. I have a passion for technology that is relentless. I am the person everyone turns to for knowledgeable advice about emerging technology trends.
